Overview

The first part of setting up student groups in D2L is to set up a category that correlates with an assignment, project, discussion, or topic.

Video Tutorial – Creating a Group
 

Step 1:

  1. Click on “Activities”
  2. Then select “Groups”

Step 2:

  1. Click on the “New Category” button

Step 3:

  1. Add the name of your category

  2. Write the description of the category

  3. Select the Enrollment Type

  4. Number of Groups

  5. If you want your students to see the category, select the box “Make category and group descriptions visible to group members”

  6. Select the Workspace you want the groups to work in.

  7. Click the “Save” button
