Overview

Many times faculty put students in small groups and have them work on an assignment, a project or discuss a particular topic.  With the use of D2L, you can setup groups in your course shell in a variety of ways.   The groups tool will allow students to discuss, share and submit assignments as a group.

When beginning the creation of groups in D2L, it is a good idea to plan out what types of groups you want, and what you want them to accomplish.

Things to consider:

  1. What type of groups do you want? How do you want to organize the students?

  2. What assignment, project, topic or discussion do you want to create groups around?
