Let’s face it, the recent dramatic changes to campus life and academics have forced faculty to alter their teaching styles, and in some cases, to seek viable alternatives to in-person practicum, internship, or clinical experiences.
As the fall semester approaches, it’s important to continue to seek out those new and innovative ways to keep classes exciting and efficient.
There is a plethora of creative resources available to faculty especially designed to keep students engaged even with a hybrid class model, regardless of whether students are on ground, online or both! The Simulated Experiences at Saint Leo offer both effective teaching tools and immersive activities for students. Since the transition to online teaching in the latter half of the spring semester, simulations received renewed interest from some faculty and were used as online replacements for in-class experiential role playing activities and field work opportunities. Still, many faculty members are unaware of or are hesitant to use this valuable teaching tool. Now is the time to take advantage of any and all digital resources and we’d love to help get you better acquainted with Simulated Experiences at Saint Leo.
If you’re interested in learning more about this exciting possibility, be sure to attend one of our upcoming Drop-In Sessions: Ready Player One: Taking Student Experience to the Next Level on July 16th @ 3 p.m., and Practice, Proficiency, Perfection: Training and Testing with SESL on August 12th @ 2 p.m.
Simulations have proven time and time again to be valuable teaching resources for both full time and adjunct Saint Leo faculty, and they’re simple to schedule and perform! If you have found yourself hesitant to utilize this technology in the past, then we’d like to put your fears at ease. Let us know what’s holding you back by taking our short survey and sharing your thoughts: Simulated Experiences and You.
