Details of the Mini-Grants
Maximum amount of award is $200
Awards are issued in the form of a reimbursement for the purchase of a technology application or tool (i.e. Padlet, Kahoot, Thinglink, Nearpod, Miro, Metaverse, etc).
Applications will be reviewed by a committee of faculty via a blind review process. Here is the rubric that will be used during the review process.
Priority will be given to applications that demonstrate prior experience (presumably with a free version) with a tool or application.
If funded, the faculty member would purchase the app/tool, and submit the receipt to the CTLE for reimbursement within six months of award.
If funded, the faculty member agrees to share their experience using the application or tool with the academic community via a webinar, Lunch ‘N’ Learn, video tutorial, or Faculty Development Day presentation within 12 months of award.
Only one proposal/application may be submitted per person.
The project should have an impact on student learning (student engagement, student achievement, building community, enhancing collaborative learning).
Questions to consider
What is your prior experience using the tool/application? Include how long you’ve been using it.
What are the limitations to the free version of the tool/application and how would additional access/features enhance what you are already able to do?
How will the instructor assess the impact of the use of the tool on student learning?
How many students/classes would benefit?
