Call for Proposals for Spring 2022 Faculty Development Day

Educators, parents, and students have been finding ways to keep on learning. Many of the creative workarounds that have emerged in response to the pandemic are more than makeshift solutions; they are messages from the future. These modifications are insights into how education might evolve. As educators who gravitate towards optimism, we perceive these needs as opportunities to do things better. As such, we ask you, how would you reimagine learning?

Place: Online/Virtual
Proposal Deadline: Friday, November 12, 2021
Format: 

  1. 50-minute presentation – single presenter
  2. 50-minute panel presentation – 2-3 presenters with a collaborative proposal

Themed tracks and possible topics include:

º  Using the D2L course shell as the backbone for an on-ground course
º  Universal Design for Learning
º  Active Learning in the on-ground, hybrid, or online class

•  Tech Tools

º  Day to day technology uses
º  Polling and Formative Assessment tools
º  Audio and Video creation tools

º  Social impact
º  Research in progress
º  Digital well-being in the age of social distancing

•  Diversity & Inclusion

º  Diverse content development
º  Student sense of belonging
º  Safe spaces

•  Online Teaching

º  Best practices in online teaching
º  Online teaching strategies
º  Instructor presence in the online environment

•  Trauma-Informed Teaching

º  Principles of trauma-informed teaching
º  Building relationships and community
º  Stories of trauma-informed teaching and learning
