PHI 335, The Philosophy of Love, is not a required course, and it is not intended for every student. It is taught primarily through experiential means: participatory exercises that cannot be duplicated or "made up" through more traditional and intellectual methods. Reading an article, for instance, or writing a paper will not replace the experience of being in the course each night. Consequently, class attendance is extremely important in students getting what the course has to offer and in the grading process. Those who are unwilling to commit themselves to regular attendance on class nights from 6:00 until approximately 9:00 P.M. will not find the course to be appropriate for them. In class, you will be given some course materials including the syllabus and weekly schedule, the ground rules for the course, the university honor code and attendance policy, etc. The links to the left will take you to similar course materials that will answer many questions about the course. However, the online course materials are not "official." When they differ from the materials distributed in class, the in-class materials are correct.
