Agony in the Garden

Agony in the Garden
>
> There is a beauty that lies in agonies eyes,
> When the carved of stone and chiseled alike
> In grooves and in depth, in waves of distress,
> Relief and regret molded to one
> With each chiseled face lay sadness encased,
> With mother earth herself allowed to be known
> With wisdom in thine eyes, which is praised as foresight.
> Is chiseled out the lives of men, friend and foe alike
> Who was to know?

Trapped in stone

You sit and pray

All your hopes

Your fears

Unanswered.

An angel tempts you

From above

Within your grasp

Too far away

Your hands are permanently immobile

Locked in prayer

Eyes down

Stuck in this world

Forever repenting

Accomplishing nothing
