Saint Paul's
Cathedral
By Sir Christopher Wren

The purpose of the Cathedral
There has been a cathedral
church dedicated to St Paul on this site since 604 AD and worship has been
offered here continuously ever since. St Paul's is the principal
church in the Diocese of London which is a part of the Anglican Communion
and is the place where the Bishop of London has his seat or 'Cathedra'.
The Cathedral is the focal point for all the parishes in the London Diocese.
It is through the beauty of the music, liturgy, architecture and worship
offered here on a daily basis that the Cathedral aims to inspire and uplift
its many visitors from all over the world.
