I agree with Morgan's views. If I were a teacher, I am sure some shudder at that thought, I would really despise teaching any subject to an apathetic classroom that would not retain anything taught to them. I enjoy learning new things, generally speaking, and I like to think that statement also applies to our class in particular. Apathy stifles many things, including learning, and I think that is the reason some people do not like to ponder things they learn outside of class. I would not like going through life like a parrot, reciting things that I hear to stay afloat amongst schoolwork and tests (and never thinking how they apply to other aspects of life), though some might prefer this. I think Montaigne made an important point in his writings about this, still applicable today.
