I am wondering to what extent, others agree with Montaigne on pedantry. Does this type of behavior bother you? Even at our college level, I feel like I have peers who demonstrate the behavior he spoke of on a daily basis. I agree with Montaigne, when he questioned the use of learning, if understanding is absent. I feel often there is a vain display of learning and pretending to demonstrate a superior knowledge in the classroom. Is it just me, or am I really just lacking a common superior knowledge? I think we are here to learn as well as help others learn; not here to put on an air of knowledge.
