Yes I agree with you Mike, one of the best parts of Cellini's autobiography was the humor and insults. I suppose Cellini getting revenge through poetry shows a slight change in society, even though he was insulted by these people he didn't have to pick up a sword and challenge them to a duel, he could use the skills he was good at to exact revenge on them. Sometimes this could be even more degrating to the person than beating them in a duel. I mean duels were still used far beyong this time, but this proved to be a less crude way of gaining satisfaction.
