As I read the stories of the expeditions of Columbus and Vespucci I didn't think that they were being as greedy as they were being explorers. These men risked their lives in search of new land. I'm sure that their voyages across sea weren't as fun and adventurous as we imagine. I do have to agree that Columbus wasn't a great thinker. After all, he died poor because of the lack of planning of his estate. I think the greed that John is talking about should be focused more on the kingdoms that the explorers were working for.
