Trying to rationalize love takes all of the excitement out of it. Part of the lure of love is that it isn't rational it makes no sense and no matter how much you try to understand it you never will. I know that I myself have taken a person and created this false image of them in my mind. Once I had them my image was forever gone. I am such a big romantic and I have these ideas about how perfect love can be yet I fear that real life will fall short. I definetly think that that is how Petrach felt and he would rather live to love his image of Laura then to go after her and have the possiblity of it being forever lost.
