In response to Alan's post, I think even during the Renaissance there wasn't a person who perfectly fit the standard of a Renaissance man. The characteristics that described the ideal Renaissance man, or courtier, were a collection on traits combined from many intelligent and respectful people. Leonardo DaVinci is considered by many to be the ideal Renaissance man, but not even he held all of the traits attributed to the perfect Renaissance man. So to say that there is no one in today's society that fits the mold of a Renaissance man, or woman, is very correct. In my opinion (with my limited knowledge of that period of time) there never has been a perfect Renaissance man. I do agree with Morgan in her statement about the housewife being very close in consideration for the title of today's Renaissance man.
