It is quite obvious that "The Decameron" was written for women, seeing as how Giovanni Boccaccio had narratives where he addressed his female readers. Was "The Decameron" written as a public awareness, to make fun of the outdated viewpoints of the time and promote a certain equality for women? And, if so, did Boccaccio get this trend to break away from the popular and ignorant views of society from his mentor Petrarch? If you love me you'll respond.
