I think that Achilleus would have gone into battle if he had a second chance to enter into battle. This may be an optimistic, half-full glass view, but Achilleus does care for his friend. I believe that loyalty to friends is really important, so I place my hopes in Achilleus that he would also honor loyalty over his anger and pride against Agamemnon and return to battle.
