Yes it seems Achilleus is looking out for himself when it comes to the ongoing battle. I do also think Achilleus is looking out for Patroklos but more fromm the position of an older brother. He consoles Patroklos in a stern manner. Achilleus knows the battles are viscousm, but they must be done for the greater good. The victory will benefit their nation and benefit Achilleus. If Achilleus is happy, so is Patroklos. . “I put upon your attention so that you can win, for me, great honour and glory in the sight of all the Danaans, so they will bring back to me the lovely girl, and give me shining gifts in addition.”(p. 332 ln. 84) Achilleus motivates his "brother" to fight courageously for the people of the area and for Achilleus
