While I do think Achilles was being selfish and that he should have helped his fellow kinsmen and friends, I don't think that he should go against his beliefs. Agamemnon did him a grave injustice and uses his men as tools instead of the friends that they are. I feel that if Achilles had gone back to fight for Agamemnon that he would have been a hipocrite and a user himself. Here he is accusing Agamemnon of only caring about himself and material goods, and then he goes back to Agamemnon because of those same material things. To me that makes Achilles seem like a hipocrite so I believe that he made the right choice for him. He stood by his beliefs and didn't let peer pressure defer them.
