I totally agree. Odysseus it just trying to do what he things is best for the Achians. He realizes that Achilleus is a great warrior, and that chances are they will be defeated without his help. Odysseus is also, in a way, doing what he was ordered by Agamemnon. Agamemnon sent him to Achilleus in order to get him back, and deliver his message of the offer of the many gifts. Odysseus is just trying to do what he thinks is best for his people.
