I have to agree that it is very unlikely that Helen was able to retain her beauty after nine years. Yet, even if she has grown older and less beautiful, those from her generation will have also aged and she may still be as beautiful to them now as she was before. Also, whether or not Helen is as beautiful as she was before, she is still the wife of Menelaus and he feels that she should be returned to him whether or not she retains her original beauty.
