SLU 101: The Freshman Seminar is an active learning and technology course that seeks to build positive, lasting relationships between first-time-in-college students and their faculty advisors.  The purpose of this course is educational, rather than administrative.  It strives to develop essential academic skills not immediately addressed by other courses and to cultivate a community approach to learning.

Faculty are encouraged to visit this website regularly to receive news of university sponsored activities related to the Freshman Seminar. Important information on contemporary advising practices, active learning, critical thinking, and Internet technology is provided through online articles and links to relevant websites. In addition, course instructors are invited to use this website to exchange ideas, tips, and constructive criticism of the course.
